An invitation to the opening of a Memory of the World exhibition on documentary heritage in Asia and the Pacific. The opening is on Tuesday 18 October 2016 at 5.00 p.m. at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), 3rd floor BTS: National Stadium.
The “Memory of the World: Documentary Heritage in Asia and the Pacific” exhibition will run from 18-30 October at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and is free and open to the public. The occasion will also mark the launch of the beautifully illustrated book, Memory of the World: Documentary Heritage in Asia and the Pacific. (Available for purchase here)
WHAT: The exhibition will feature dozens of images and material drawn from the new publication, “Memory of the World: Documentary Heritage in Asia and the Pacific”, jointly published by UNESCO and CLOUD Publication in 2016. The exhibition, presented in Thai and English, will provide a detailed explanation of the Memory of the World programme, threats to documentary heritage in the region and how MOW addresses these challenges and examples of items registered on the Asia-Pacific register.
