Nominations for the Asia/Pacific Regional Memory of the World Register may be submitted by any person or organisation, including government and non-government organisations. MOWCAP prefers nominations to be made by or with the support of the relevant National MOW Committee, or if one does not exist the relevant UNESCO National Commission.
Applicants should download and complete the MOWCAP Nomination Form.
It is important to follow the procedures and format described in the MOWCAP General Guidelines especially paragraphs 1.5 and 1.6. The MOWCAP Guidelines are based on the International Memory of the World Guidelines from 2002 and the Register Companion
Two or more countries may put forward joint submissions where collections are divided among several owners or custodians of different countries in the region.
Nominations should include photos but the total size of the nomination form should not exceed 5mb. High resolution photo files or video can be sent separately. In sending these photos you are agreeing that MOWCAP can use them for the purposes of promoting Memory of the World e.g. newsletters, website etc. Please let us know if you do not wish us to use the photos.
Submitted nomination forms will be published on the MOWCAP website prior to a decision being made at the General Meeting about whether they will be inscribed on the MOWCAP register.
Nominations close on 31 August in odd years (e.g. 2015, 2017. 2019……) and successful inscriptions are announced the following year usually in May or June.
