A ceremony was held to celebrate the inscription of the “Imperial Records of Nguyen Dynasty” on the MOWCAP register. Vietnam is also hosting a seminar to be held in Da Lat in November on “Strengthening National Identities through UNESCO Inscribed Documentary Heritage”.

At the MOWCAP 6th General Meeting held in Guangzhou, China, in June 2014, 16 inscriptions were added to the register. This was a record number of inscriptions and demonstrates an increasing recognition for the Memory of the World Programme.

The National Archives of Australia (NAA) have been awarded the 2011 UNESCO/ Jikji Memory of the World Prize for its significant contributions to the preservation and accessibility of documentary heritage. The work of the NAA includes publications, and innovative initiatives in the preservation of digital records. For more information please visit the UNESCO MOW Homepage.

The UNESCO/ Jikji Memory of the World Prize, funded by the Republic of Korea was awarded to ADABI (Apoyo al Desarrollo de Archivos y Bibliotecas), a Mexican non-profit association, in recognition of its innovative approach to conservation, digitization and accessibility of archives, as well as its education and training programmes.
